6T70 Transmission Control Module TCM Replaces 24261875

This is the transmission control module (TCM) for the GM 6T70, 6T75 and 6T80 six-speed front-wheel-drive automatics. It is the external module that bolts to the transmission and runs shift timing, line pressure and torque converter clutch apply. It replaces GM part numbers 24261875, 24275870, 24041871, 24264346 and 24275868, and is supplied remanufactured.

Fitment covers Chevrolet Equinox 3.6L 2008-2017, Traverse 3.6L 2009-2017, Impala 3.5L and 3.9L 2011, and Malibu 2.0L 2013-2015; Buick Enclave 3.6L 2008-2017, Allure 3.6L 2014-2015, LaCrosse 3.6L 2014-2016 and Regal 2.0L 2014-2017; GMC Acadia 3.6L 2007-2019 and Terrain 3.6L 2010-2017; Cadillac SRX 3.0L and 3.6L 2013-2016 and XTS 3.6L 2013-2019; Pontiac G6 3.6L 2007-2009 and Torrent 3.6L 2008-2009; Saturn Aura 3.6L 2007-2009, Outlook 3.6L 2007-2009 and Vue 2.4L and 3.5L 2008-2010.

A failing 6T70 TCM is one of the reasons a unit that was just rebuilt still shifts badly. The common pattern is harsh or delayed 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, a flare between gears, no torque converter lockup, or the transmission dropping into limp with P0716, P0717, P0722, P0973 through P0976 or U0101 lost communication with the TCM stored. Heat cycling cracks the solder joints inside the module, so the faults are often intermittent and worse when the car is hot. Before you condemn it, check the harness connector for fluid intrusion from the case connector sleeve - fluid wicking up the loom kills modules and will kill the replacement too.

On the bench and in the car: disconnect the battery, unplug the module, remove the mounting bolts and transfer the new module into place. This module requires programming to the vehicle with a factory-level scan tool or dealer service - the VIN and transmission calibration have to be written to it before it will run the unit correctly. Plan on a relearn drive cycle afterward so the adapts reset.
