Pushes old ATF out of Mercedes 722.6/722.9 and ZF 6HP/8HP units with regulated shop air, draining the converter and cooler loop a pan drop leaves behind.
A shop-air drain kit for European automatics that have no dipstick and no easy way to get the old fluid out. It includes an air hose with an inline pressure gauge, an air release valve, a dedicated adapter for the Mercedes 722.6 and 722.9, dedicated adapters for the ZF 6HP and ZF 8HP used in BMW, and two universal adapters for other fill and cooler ports.
Pulling the pan on a 722.6 or 6HP only gets part of the fluid; the rest stays in the torque converter, the cooler and the lines. With this kit you thread the correct adapter into the fill or cooler port, set a low regulated air pressure while watching the gauge, and push the trapped fluid out into a drain pan. Then refill to the correct level and temperature with the specified fluid. It shortens a full fluid exchange and gets more of the burnt, varnished ATF out than a gravity drain.
Listed fitment includes Mercedes 722.6 and 722.9 (SL600, SLK230, C230 and similar) and BMW ZF 6HP and 8HP (525i, 530i, 330i and similar). Use low pressure only and confirm the adapter seals fully before applying air.
