This is a complete master overhaul kit for the Chrysler A604 automatic, later badged 40TE and 41TE (OE code F4AC1). It is the four-speed electronic transaxle Chrysler ran for two decades across their front-wheel-drive cars and minivans, so one kit covers a big slice of the daily work that comes across the bench.

This is a master build, not just a reseal. It includes the friction clutch plates and the steel plates along with the full gasket and seal set, so you can strip the unit and put it back together with fresh clutches out of one box instead of chasing individual part numbers. Add a new filter and fresh ATF+4 on reassembly.

The A604 is known for burning the underdrive and reverse clutches and for solenoid-pack related shift complaints. A master kit with new frictions and seals is what puts the transaxle back to clean, firm shifts after a burnt-clutch or slipping failure. Bench-clean the valve body and check the pump and clutch clearances while it is apart.
