DQ200 0AM DSG 7-Speed Dual Clutch Assembly 602000600

The DQ200 (transmission code 0AM) is the Volkswagen Group 7-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox used behind smaller TSI engines. Unlike the wet DQ250, its two clutches run dry and wear like a manual clutch. This is the complete dual clutch assembly, cross-referenced to 602000600 (also listed as 198140L), with both clutch discs and pressure plates in one unit as pictured. The unit ships at roughly 24 pounds.

Listed applications include the 1.4L, 1.6L and 1.8L versions of the VW Golf, Jetta, Passat and Polo, Audi A1 and A3, and Skoda Fabia, Octavia and Superb equipped with the 0AM gearbox. Worn DQ200 clutches show up as a shudder or judder pulling away from a stop, harsh 1-2 engagement, slipping, a flashing PRNDS display, and clutch wear or clutch temperature faults in the mechatronic unit. Confirm your gearbox is a 0AM and match the number on your old clutch before ordering, since later revisions use different kit numbers.

Bench notes: the gearbox has to come out. Once separated from the engine, remove the retaining ring on the input shaft, pull the old clutch with the proper puller, then measure and set the engagement lever and bearing shims per the service procedure before seating the new assembly on the input shafts. A 0AM clutch installer/remover tool set is strongly recommended. After reassembly, the clutch adaptation (basic settings) has to be run with VCDS, ODIS or a comparable scan tool or the car will not shift correctly.
