Replacement dual mass flywheel for the 6-speed DSG in 2009-2010 VW Jetta, 2010-2013 Golf, 2013-2015 Beetle and Audi A3 2.0L.
Replacement dual mass flywheel for the 2.0L cars running the six-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. Listed fitment: 2009-2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L, 2010-2013 Golf 2.0L, 2013-2015 Beetle 2.0L and 2010-2013 Audi A3 2.0L. It cross-references to DMF126 and to OE numbers 03G105266BD, 03G105266CH, 03G105266BK, 03G105266CJ, 03G105266CP, 03G105266CS, 03G105266Q, 03G105266AR, 03L105266AE, 03L105266AF, 03L105266DC, 03L105266DD, 03L105266EH, 03L105266EJ and 415074009. Read the number off the flywheel you pull before ordering - these cars ran several part numbers by build date.
On a DSG car the flywheel does not carry a friction face for a driver-operated clutch. It bolts to the crankshaft and drives the input of the dual-clutch pack, and its job is purely torsional isolation: a spring pack between a primary mass on the crank and a secondary mass driving the gearbox soaks up the combustion pulses so they never reach the clutch pack and the gear trains. That is why the springs wear out - they take every pulse the engine makes, and on the turbo 2.0L cars those pulses are sharp.
What a failing unit looks like from the driver seat: a rattle or growl at idle in Park or Neutral that changes with engine load, a shake or clunk at shutdown, a vibration felt through the floor around 1,200 to 1,800 rpm, and in later stages a shudder during low-speed engagements that people commonly chase as a mechatronic or clutch pack problem first. Check the flywheel before you condemn the clutch pack - with the gearbox out you can measure the free rotational play between the two masses and see the wear directly.
Bench notes: the gearbox has to come out either way, so replace the flywheel any time you are in there for a DSG clutch pack or a rear main seal. Use new flywheel bolts, torque them in the factory sequence and stages, and clean and inspect the crankshaft flange for scoring before you bolt the new unit down. Check the rear main seal while the flywheel is off - it is a five-minute part with the flywheel out and a full gearbox pull if you skip it.
