Eleven sized POM drivers that press worn internal and speedometer bushings into a GM 4L80E, TH400 or TH350 case squarely without scoring the bore.
Bushing driver set built specifically for the GM 4L80E, 4L85E, TH400 and TH350 family. Eleven drivers cover the case, extension housing, pump, drums, and speedometer bushing locations so each bushing seats straight in its bore instead of cocking and hanging up the way a socket-and-hammer does.
The drivers are turned from POM (acetal) engineering plastic, not steel, so they will not gall, scratch, or dent the aluminum housing or the bushing face while you drive it home. Support the case, start the bushing by hand, set the matching driver on top, and tap it in until it bottoms flush — the shoulder on each driver stops it at the correct depth. Cross-reference numbers on this set are 46626B, 46627A, 46629, 46640, 46630, 46627, 46627B, 46632A, 46631, 46633A, 46634A and 46635B.
Worn bushings are what let the input, output, and stator support shafts walk in their bores, which shows up as low line pressure, a wandering speedometer feed, and converter or pump seal leaks. Replacing them during a rebuild is routine; this kit is what makes the install clean. Weighs 1.72 lb and stores in the molded case.
