Replaces the failed conductor plate and internal speed sensors in the NAG1 722.6 valve body, curing limp mode and erratic shifts.
This is the electrical conductor plate that lives inside the valve body of the 722.6 five-speed, the unit Chrysler calls the NAG1 and Mercedes calls the W5A580 / WA580. It carries the internal wiring, the shift and pressure solenoid contacts, and both the input (N2/N3) and output speed sensors in one molded assembly, plus the 13-pin case connector adapter that passes the signals out to the TCM. Part number coverage is 1402701261, 52108308AC, 52108308AB, 68021352AA and 917-678.
Fitment runs 2005-2020 on the Chrysler 300 and Crossfire, Dodge Challenger, Charger, Magnum, Durango, Nitro and Sprinter 2500/3500, and Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Wrangler, along with the Mercedes applications that share the 722.6. Confirm you have the five-speed NAG1 and not the later 722.9 / NAG2 seven-speed before ordering, because the plates are not interchangeable.
This is the part you go after when the truck drops to limp mode and holds second gear, when the scan tool sets speed sensor codes like P0715, P0720 or P0731, or when shifts turn erratic and the speedometer flickers. The failure is almost always a cracked solder joint or a chafed internal trace inside the old plate, and it will not show on a visual inspection - the plate simply has to come out.
On the bench: drop the pan and pull the filter, unclip the 13-pin connector from the case and twist the adapter out, then unbolt and unplug the old conductor plate from the valve body. Set the new plate in, seat the solenoid connectors fully until they click, torque the plate bolts down evenly, and install the new connector adapter with a fresh O-ring. Refill with the correct ATF, and expect the TCM to need an adaptation reset so it can relearn shift pressures.
