722.6 Transmission Valve Body with Conductor Plate

This is a complete valve body for the Mercedes 722.6 five-speed automatic, the same unit Chrysler and Dodge call the NAG1 or W5A580. It comes assembled with the conductor plate, shift solenoids, modulating pressure and shift pressure solenoids, and the TCC solenoid already mounted. It cross-references OEM numbers 2112770101, 1402700561, 1402700161 and 10020951. It is a refurbished original unit pulled and tested, not a new casting, so expect some residual ATF on it.

Per the seller, it fits the Mercedes C230 (1997-2005), C240 (2001-2005), C280 (1994-2007), C32 AMG (2002-2004), C320 (2001-2005) and C350 (2006-2007), plus the Chrysler Crossfire (2004-2005), Chrysler 300 (2005-2014), Dodge Challenger (2008-2014), Charger (2009-2014 and 2016), Durango (2011-2013) and Nitro (2007, 2009-2011). Match the part number on your old unit before ordering.

Swap the whole valve body when you are chasing limp mode stuck in second gear, harsh 1-2 or 2-3 shifts, a flare on the upshift, or solenoid and speed sensor codes on these units, commonly P0715, P0717, P0720 and the Chrysler P0700 family. On the 722.6, a failed conductor plate (it carries the N2 and N3 speed sensors) is one of the most common causes of limp mode, and a worn valve body causes the shift-quality complaints. Replacing the assembly covers both in one job.

The job is done with the pan off: drain the fluid, pull the pan and filter, disconnect the 13-pin connector at the case, remove the valve body bolts and drop the unit. Install a new 13-pin connector adapter seal and a new filter and pan gasket while you are in there, torque the valve body bolts to spec, and refill with a 722.6-approved ATF (MB 236.14 or the equivalent for your application). Clear adaptations with a scan tool after the swap so the shifts relearn.
