Mercedes 722.6/722.9 BMW 6HP/8HP ATF Drain & Fill Kit

This is an adapter-and-air-hose kit for servicing the sealed, dipstick-less automatics that Mercedes and BMW built for years. It covers the Mercedes 722.6 five-speed and 722.9 seven-speed (7G-Tronic) found in cars like the SL600, SLK230, and C230, and the ZF 6HP and 8HP units under BMWs such as the 330i, 525i, and 530i. These boxes have no dipstick and are filled from the bottom through the pan or fill plug, which is why a normal drain-and-refill turns into a mess without the right fittings.

The set includes a threaded adapter for the Mercedes 722.6/722.9 fill port, a separate adapter for the BMW 6HP, and another for the BMW 8HP, plus an air hose with an inline pressure gauge and an air release valve. Instead of letting gravity dribble the fluid out, you thread the correct adapter into the transmission, connect shop air at low pressure, and the air pushes the used ATF out through the hose quickly and cleanly. The gauge lets you keep the pressure down so you are moving fluid, not blowing seals, and the release valve bleeds the line before you break the connection.

Use it during a fluid-and-filter service on these transmissions: drop the pan and filter, then use the adapter to evacuate the remaining old fluid from the case before you refill and set the level at temperature. One buyer noted the male air coupler on the hose is a non-standard plug and may need a 1/4-inch NPT coupler swapped on to match a typical USA compressor fitting, so keep that in mind if your shop uses Milton-style couplers.
