Floor-mount ratchet shifter that replaces worn column linkage on GM TH400/TH350, Ford C4/C6 and Chrysler A727/A904 three-speed automatics.
This is a floor-mount ratchet shifter for a three-speed automatic, built to bolt into a stock or custom console and give you a positive, gated pull between gears. It replaces part number 80675 and works two ways: in normal driving the stick moves like a conventional brake-detent shifter, and when you lift the trigger it converts to ratchet action so you can bang down into low without hunting past a gear.
Fitment covers the common three-speed automatics: GM TH400, TH350, TH250 and TH200, Ford and Lincoln/Mercury C4 and C6, and Chrysler Torqueflite A727 and A904 from 1966 up. It does not fit TH700R4, TH200-4R or AOD, and it cannot be run behind a reverse-pattern manual valve body — the detent pattern is standard P-R-N-D-2-1 only.
Typical use is a swap car or a truck where the column shifter linkage is worn out, sloppy, or gone entirely after an engine and trans swap. A worn column linkage lets the manual valve lever sit between detents, which is what burns a band or a clutch pack when the valve body never fully commits to a gear. A floor shifter with real detents puts the manual lever exactly where the valve body wants it every time.
Shifter body and stick are steel with a 10.1 lb assembly weight and roughly 17 in of overall length, so it is stout enough for heavy-duty truck service, not just a light-duty street car. Shift cable and mounting hardware requirements depend on your floor pan and trans crossmember, so measure your throw before you cut the tunnel.
