Sonnax 10R80/10R90 Zip Kit Ford GM 10-Speed Valve Body

The Sonnax Zip Kit is a drop-in valve body repair for the Ford and GM 10-speed automatics that were co-developed and share the same hydraulic layout. It targets the bore wear and circuit leakage that make a high-mileage 10R80, 10R90 or 10R60 shift harshly, bump when coasting to a stop, or lose apply pressure. Unlike a reaming kit, the Zip Valve parts install with the valve body on the bench and need no special tools.

It fits the Ford 10R60, 10R80 and 10R90 units and the matching GM 10L60, 10L80 and 10L90 versions - the transmissions behind the F-150, Mustang GT, Expedition, Ranger, Explorer, Silverado, Sierra, Camaro and the full-size SUVs from roughly 2017 up. Because both makes share the case and valve body casting, the same kit reconditions either one.

Wear at the pressure regulator and clutch apply circuits lets fluid bleed off, and the controller tries to cover it with more line pressure. The driver feels that as a firm or clunky 1-2 and 2-3, a bump on deceleration, converter clutch shudder, or slipping under load. The kit reseals those circuits so the clutches get clean, repeatable apply pressure and the adaptive shift strategy settles back down. A printed Sonnax booklet with inspection and rebuild tips is included in the box.

This is a valve-body-off job done during service or a rebuild, not a plug-in module. The valve body comes off and is disassembled, the Zip parts drop into their circuits per the printed instructions, and it goes back together. Ships from the USA; handling in 1-2 business days.
