U760E Transmission Valve Body Toyota Camry Highlander

This is a complete U760E valve body assembly with the shift solenoids already installed, replacing OE unit U760E / U760 on the Toyota 6-speed front-wheel-drive automatic. Listed fitment is Camry 2009-2011 2.4L and 2.5L, Highlander 2008-2011 2.7L, RAV4 2011 and up 2.5L, and Venza 2008-2011 2.7L. The same casting is used behind the U760F all-wheel-drive variant, but confirm your transaxle tag before ordering - the U660E used on the 3.5L V6 cars is a different valve body and will not interchange.

The failure that sends you here is usually electrical rather than mechanical. A U760E that has been run on burnt fluid drops shift solenoid SL1 or SL2 and sets P0748, P0778, P0776 or P2714, and the car flares on the 2-3 or holds third gear in limp. The other common complaint is a shudder or slip on lockup from a worn TCC regulator bore in the aluminum body itself - that bore cannot be brought back with a new solenoid, which is why a full valve body swap is the fix rather than a solenoid kit.

On the bench: drain the pan, pull the pan and filter, unplug the internal harness connector and the solenoid connectors, and remove the valve body bolts in reverse of the torque sequence. The manual valve links to the detent lever pin - lift the body straight down and off the pin, do not pry it sideways. Transfer nothing from the old unit; this assembly comes with its solenoids fitted. Reinstall with a new filter and pan gasket, torque the valve body bolts to Toyota's spec in sequence, and refill through the fill plug with Toyota WS fluid only.

After the swap, clear codes and perform a fluid level check at the specified fluid temperature window using a scan tool - the U760E has no dipstick and overfilling or underfilling it will produce the same slipping complaint you just replaced parts to fix. If the vehicle needs it, run the transmission relearn so the TCM re-adapts shift pressure to the new body.
