ZF 8HP Transmission Service Kit with 8L ATF Porsche Cayenne

This is the complete fluid-and-filter service for the ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic (VW/Audi code 0C8) as fitted to the 958-chassis Porsche Cayenne 2011-2018, Panamera E-Hybrid 2012-2016, Audi Q7 2012-2015, and VW Touareg 2011-2017. Kit part number 958325KIT. You get eight 1-liter bottles of German-made OE-spec ATF, the transmission filter with its seal, the pan gasket with spacers, and the drain plug seal - everything the job actually consumes, in one box.

These boxes are marketed as sealed-for-life and they are not. By 60-80k miles the fluid oxidizes and the 8HP starts giving you the classic complaints: a harsh 1-2 or 2-3 shift when cold, a shudder holding lockup at light throttle around 40-50 mph, and delayed engagement after the car sits overnight. Most of that is fluid condition and a loaded filter, not hard part failure. Servicing it before the clutch material is gone is the difference between a fluid job and a rebuild.

On the bench or on a lift the sequence is: bring the trans up to temperature, drop the pan (the filter is integrated into the pan assembly on this design, so the filter and gasket come as one service unit), let it drain, fit the new gasket and spacers, torque the pan bolts in sequence, then fill through the fill plug until it runs out at the correct fluid temperature - the 8HP is temperature-dependent on level, so check it in the 30-50 C window with a scan tool reading trans temp, not by feel. Plan on refilling roughly 7-8 liters on a pan drop, which is why the kit ships with eight.
