Remanufactured ZF 8HP45 valve body with new solenoids, bench-tested, for BMW F30/F10/F25/F15, Jeep WK2 3.6L, Jaguar XF/XJ and Discovery 4.
This is a complete remanufactured valve body for the ZF 8HP45 eight-speed automatic, supplied with new solenoids already installed. The 8HP45 is the 450 Nm-rated version of the ZF eight-speed family, and it is the unit behind a long list of rear-drive applications: BMW F30 328i and 335i, F10 528i and 535i, X3 F25, X5 F15, the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 3.6L from 2011 to 2015, Jaguar XF and XJ, and the Land Rover Discovery 4.
When an 8HP45 starts hanging on the 2-3 shift, bangs into gear cold, shudders under light throttle, loses reverse, or sets P07xx solenoid codes, the problem is usually the valve body rather than the clutches. Years of unfiltered debris wear the bores and the solenoid screens, line pressure goes unstable, and no amount of fluid service brings it back. Replacing the valve body as an assembly is the repair that actually holds, and it saves pulling the unit apart on the bench.
Every unit is disassembled, cleaned, fitted with new solenoids and hydraulically bench-tested before it ships, so it goes in as an assembly with no setup work. Installation is from underneath with the pan and filter off - the unit is not a dry-fit part, so plan on a full fluid fill and a ZF-correct level set at temperature afterward. Adaptations should be reset with a scan tool once it is in.
Important: the 8HP45, 8HP50 and 8HP70 look nearly identical but are not interchangeable. Match your transmission tag code and original part number before ordering. This unit does not fit the updated 8HP50 or the high-torque 8HP70.
