845RE ZF8HP45 Valve Body - Charger Challenger 300 RAM 3.6L

This is a complete valve body assembly for the ZF 8HP45 eight-speed automatic, the transmission Chrysler badges as the 845RE. It is the unit that bolts to the bottom of the case under the oil pan and does the actual shifting: the aluminum valve body, the internal shift and pressure solenoids, and the oil circuit board that routes hydraulic pressure to the clutch packs. This is the 2WD/rear-drive circuit board version.

It fits the 3.6L Pentastar V6 cars and trucks that run the 845RE: Dodge Charger and Challenger, Chrysler 300, and RAM 1500. When one of these develops a harsh or delayed engagement, a gear-specific slip or flare, a bang into gear, limp mode, or throws solenoid and pressure-control codes, the valve body is usually where the trouble lives, worn bores and a tired solenoid rarely come back with just fluid and a filter. Swapping the whole assembly gets you fresh solenoids and clean bores in one shot instead of chasing individual valves.

On the bench it is a pan-off job: drop the pan and filter, unplug the internal harness, pull the old valve body, and set the replacement in place, making sure the manual valve engages the shift shaft and the harness seats fully. Torque the bolts down evenly to the factory sequence, run a fresh filter and the correct ZF 8HP fluid, and clear codes.
