10R140 Deep Transmission Pan Cast Aluminum Ford Super Duty

This is a cast aluminum deep sump pan for the Ford 10R140 ten-speed behind the 6.7L Power Stroke. It replaces the thin stamped-steel factory pan on 2020-2026 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks and interchanges with PPE part numbers 328053320 and 328053520. The casting is finished in black and carries a machined sealing flange.

The reason to run a deep pan on a 10R140 is heat and fluid volume. The stock pan holds a small reserve, and on a truck that tows heavy or runs a tune, MERCON ULV gets hot and shears down fast. A deep cast pan adds several quarts of capacity and the cast-in cooling fins carry heat out to the airstream instead of holding it in the fluid. More volume also means the pickup is less likely to get uncovered on a steep grade or a hard stop with a loaded trailer.

Install is a pan-off job. Drop the fluid, pull the factory pan and the filter, clean the case rail so no old sealer or gasket material is left, and set the new pan with the supplied hardware. Torque the bolts in a criss-cross pattern and do not overdo them, aluminum pans pull threads easily. Plan on extra fluid: because the pan holds more than stock, the fill and the level check on the 10R140 have to be done at the factory-specified fluid temperature or you will read the level wrong. The magnetic drain plug lets you check for material and change fluid on a service interval without dropping the pan again.

Confirm your truck's existing pan style and part number before ordering. This fits the 10R140 only, not the 10R80 used behind the gas engines and not the older 6R140 six-speed.
