10R80 Aluminum Transmission Pan Kit with Filter, 265-897

This is an aluminum replacement oil pan for the Ford 10R80 ten-speed automatic. It replaces the factory plastic/composite pan, Ford part numbers HL3Z-7A194-A, HL3Z-7A194-B, HL3Z-7A194-C, LP5Z-7A194-A and LP5Z-7A194-B, as well as the Dorman 265-897. The kit comes with the pan, a magnetic drain plug, a pan gasket, a replacement filter and a set of pan bolts, so a fluid-and-filter service and the pan swap happen in one job.

Fitment: 10R80-equipped 2017-2023 Ford F-150, 2018-2023 Expedition, 2018-2023 Mustang, 2019-2023 Ranger and 2018-2023 Lincoln Navigator. It does not fit the F-150 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid. Check your OE pan number before ordering.

Why people replace the stock pan: the factory 10R80 pan is a plastic unit with an integrated seal, and once it gets gouged, cracked from a rock strike, or starts weeping at the sealing edge there is no fixing it. Many stock pans also have no drain plug, which turns every fluid service into a pan drop. The aluminum pan gives you a real drain plug, and the magnet catches ferrous wear material so you can read what the transmission is shedding.

On the bench: drain what you can, loosen the pan bolts from one side so it tips and dumps the rest, pull the old filter straight down, and clean the case sealing surface dry. Install the new filter with its seal fully seated, set the pan and gasket, and snug the bolts in a crisscross pattern. Refill and set the level with the engine running at the specified fluid temperature, since the 10R80 level check is temperature-sensitive.
