10R80 Transmission Cooler Port Adapter Kit -8AN 90 Degree

This is a cooler port adapter for the Ford 10R80 (2017-up F-150, Expedition, Mustang, Ranger, Bronco) and the 6R80 (F-150, Expedition, Mustang and Explorer). It bolts on at the transmission cooler-port location and gives you two -8AN male ports, marked IN and OUT, in place of the factory quick-connect style fittings. The kit is three pieces: the adapter block with its port seals, plus two -8AN 90 degree swivel hose ends. Everything is machined aluminum with a black finish.

Where it earns its keep is an aftermarket cooler install. Towing, plowing or a tuned truck puts more heat into the 10-speed than the stock cooler circuit likes, and the factory plastic quick connects and hard lines are a pain to adapt to a bigger stacked-plate cooler. Converting to -8AN lets you run braided or push-lock hose straight to the cooler with real threaded connections instead of splicing rubber hose onto the OE lines. The 90 degree swivels point the hose away from the case so it clears the crossmember and exhaust on the tight side of the transmission.

Install: with the engine off and the fluid cool, disconnect the factory cooler lines at the case and catch the drain-back. Clean the port faces, fit the adapter with the supplied seals, then thread the 90 degree fittings on and clock them toward your hose route before tightening. Keep track of which port is feed and which is return so the IN and OUT markings match your cooler plumbing. After the lines are on, start the engine, check for leaks, and top off and check the fluid level per the Ford procedure for your transmission, since some fluid is lost when the lines come off.
