Tapered sleeves that stretch a solid Teflon sealing ring over the shaft and squeeze it back to size on Ford 10R80 and GM 10L90 builds.
Solid one-piece Teflon sealing rings have to be stretched over the shaft to get them into their groove, then compressed back down before the shaft will go into its bore. Skip the resize step and the ring shaves off on the drum lip, you lose apply pressure on that circuit, and the unit comes back with a slip or a harsh shift you cannot tune out.
This set uses tapered progressive-compression sleeves. The expander opens the ring evenly as it walks up onto the shaft, and the resizer sleeve steps it back down to installed diameter without flat-spotting the ring or scratching the shaft journal. Work it down in one steady push rather than forcing it.
