4L60E Transmission Holding Fixture and Bench Base

This is the universal GM transmission holding fixture with base - the aftermarket equivalent of Kent-Moore J-8763-B. It bolts to your bench and picks the transmission up by the case mounting lugs, so the unit is held rigid at whatever angle you need instead of rocking around on a pile of shop rags. The base plate is included, so you are not hunting for a separate mount.

Fitment covers the GM automatic line: 180C (3L30), 200, 200C, 200-4R, 250, 250-C, 350, 350-C, 375, 400 (3L80), 425, 475 (3L80-HD), 700-R4, 4L60, 4L60E and 4L80E. Anything in that family with the standard case lug pattern will hang on it.

On the bench, you bolt the fixture down, hang the case on the lugs, and snug the two tightening handles. The dual-handle design lets you break it loose and swing the case a full 360 degrees, then lock it again with one hand. Roll the unit pan-up to drop the pan and pull the valve body, spin it nose-down to pull the pump, then stand it on end to stack drums and clutch packs and check end play without the case shifting on you.

The problem it solves is the one every one-man shop hits: a loose case on a bench moves while you are trying to line up a snap ring, seat a bushing, or torque valve body bolts, and both of your hands are already busy. Holding the case in a fixture also keeps you from setting a freshly cleaned case face down on a dirty bench between steps.
