4L60E Master Rebuild Kit Wedge Seal 2004-2014

Complete master overhaul kit for the late-style GM 4L60E, and the 4L65E and 4L70E variants built from 2004 through roughly 2014. This is the wedge-seal version: the case-to-pump seal is a bonded rubber section on a rigid steel ring that seats in the groove between the case bore and the outer lip of the pump body. If your unit still uses a plain round pump O-ring, this is the wrong kit - the early and late pump-and-case designs do not interchange, and bolting a pump down against the wrong seal will either dump fluid out the bellhousing or crack the case bore.

What is in the box: the premium friction clutch module, the matching steel plate module, the full overhaul gasket set, O-rings, lip seals, metal-clad seals and sealing rings. That covers a standard teardown and reseal on the bench - pump, forward and direct drums, 3-4 pack, low/reverse, servo and accumulator seals. Before you order, confirm the case: the late unit has a removable bellhousing, a bolt-on tail housing, and the updated case-to-pump groove. Pull the pump and look at the seal that came out. A flat steel-backed ring means wedge seal and this kit fits. A round rubber O-ring in a plain bore means you need the early-style kit instead. Typical vehicles running the late wedge-seal unit are 2004-up Silverado and Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Escalade, Trailblazer, Envoy, Express and Savana vans, Colorado and Canyon, and 2004-up Camaro and Corvette applications on the 4L65E/4L70E.

Common reasons this kit goes on the bench: slipping 3-4 clutch and a burnt 3-4 pack, delayed or no reverse from a leaking low/reverse circuit, harsh or flaring 1-2 shifts, and the classic converter-side fluid leak that turns out to be the pump seal rather than the front pump bushing.
