GM Front Pump Alignment Band, 4L60E/700-R4/TH350/TH400 (SST-1097)

When you bolt a GM front pump back together, the pump cover and the pump body have to end up perfectly concentric or the stator support will not line up with the input drum and clutch hub. Tighten the ring of bolts with the halves even slightly off center and the converter will not slide in square, the pump can bind, and you get a hard-to-chase noise or wear once the unit is running. This band is the fix: it wraps the outside of the assembled pump, and the wing nut draws it down so both halves share the same center before you torque anything.

It replaces the OEM SST-1097 / T-1097 alignment band and covers the whole run of GM automatics that use the same pump outer diameter: TH250, TH250C, TH350, TH350-C, TH375, TH400 (3L80/3L80-HD), TH425, TH475, 700-R4, 4L60, 4L60E, and Powerglide. One tool spans decades of GM rebuilds, so it earns a spot on the bench whether you are doing a 700-R4 or an old Powerglide.

Use it after the pump halves and the stator support are assembled: set the band over the pump outer wall, snug the wing nut so the band pulls the cover square to the body, then torque the pump bolts in a cross pattern while it holds alignment. Back the wing nut off and lift the band away. Stainless steel so it does not rust between jobs, and the wing nut lets you set and release it by hand without a wrench.
