4L60E Valve Body Assembly with Solenoids and Harness

A complete valve body assembly for the GM 4L60E and 4L65E that arrives with the shift solenoids, EPC (pressure control) solenoid, TCC solenoid, pressure switch manifold and internal wiring harness already mounted. The harness ends in the 13-pin round case connector, so the whole unit plugs in and bolts up instead of being transferred piece by piece from your old valve body.

Swapping the complete assembly is the practical fix when the aluminum bores are worn. The TCC regulator and isolator valve bores are the usual failure: converter apply pressure bleeds off, the PCM sets P1870 for converter clutch slip, and the unit runs hot. Worn bores in the same casting also cause soft or flared 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and low line pressure that will cook a fresh set of clutches. Rebuilding a valve body with worn bores rarely cures it; replacing the casting does.

The seller lists fitment for 1996-2006 Chevrolet and GMC trucks, vans and SUVs with the 4L60E or 4L65E. GM changed the EPC solenoid and harness layout for 2003, so compare the solenoid plugs (red EPC plug, grey plug, inverted TCC plug) and the case connector in the photos against your old unit before you drop the pan.

Install: drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug the case connector and unclip the harness, then remove the valve body bolts and lower it straight down while holding the separator plate so the checkballs stay in the case. Confirm every checkball is present and seated, set the new assembly in place, run the bolts down in sequence to factory torque, reconnect the harness, fit a new filter and pan gasket, refill with Dexron VI, and road test before clearing codes.
