Genuine GM shift solenoid (PN 24230298) for 4L60E/4L65E automatics; the A and B on-off solenoids that time the 1-2 and 3-4 shifts. Fixes P0753/P0758.
This is GM part number 24230298, the normally-open on-off shift solenoid used in the GM 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E automatic transmissions behind Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Trailblazer, Avalanche and similar rear- and four-wheel-drive GM trucks and SUVs. It is the same solenoid in both the A and B positions, and the PCM switches the pair on and off in combination to select which gear the valve body applies. That is why one part number covers the 1-2 and 3-4 shift timing.
When one of these sticks or fails electrically the transmission loses a gear or falls into limp mode holding third. The classic symptoms are a truck that will not shift past third, sluggish takeoff, no overdrive, or a check-engine light with DTC P0753 (shift solenoid A electrical) or P0758 (shift solenoid B electrical). Because the two solenoids are identical and share a housing area, the standard fix is to replace both A and B at the same time while the pan is down, along with fresh fluid, filter and a pan gasket.
Replacement is a pan-off job: drain the fluid, drop the pan and filter, and unclip the solenoid retaining clips. Note that at least one solenoid sits over a spring-loaded plunger, so keep thumb pressure on it and pull straight out slowly so the internal valve does not launch into the case. This listing is for one (1) solenoid; a 4L60E uses two, so order a quantity of two if you are doing the pair. Genuine GM Genuine Parts / ACDelco unit built to OE fit and calibration.
