545RFE Transmission Solenoid Pack and Filter Kit

This is the solenoid block for the Chrysler 45RFE / 545RFE family bundled with the transmission filter set, covering OE numbers 68002342AD, 5170877AA and 52119435AB. The block is the electro-hydraulic module that bolts to the valve body and carries the shift solenoids and the pressure switches the TCM reads, so when it fails you usually get a code and a shift complaint at the same time.

On the bench or on the lift the job is pan down, fluid out, then pull the filters. This transmission uses two: the main pan filter and the cooler-return filter that screws into the case (the one people miss on a 4WD unit). With the filters out, unplug the internal harness, unbolt the solenoid block from the valve body, and set the new block on with the mating surface clean and dry -- no sealer. Snug the block bolts evenly, install both new filters, reseal the pan, and refill with ATF+4 only. Relearn the shift adaptives with a scan tool or a few light-throttle cycles after the fill.

This is the part you go to for a P0700 with limp mode, solenoid-circuit codes in the P0750 range, no 2nd or no 4th, a harsh or flared 1-2, or a unit that shifts fine cold and gets erratic once it is hot. Doing the filters at the same time is the point of the kit -- a plugged cooler-return filter starves the same circuits the new block feeds, and swapping the block alone will have you back in the pan.
