The 62TE usually comes in with a harsh or delayed 2-3 or 3-4 shift, slipping in 4th through 6th, or an underdrive or low-reverse clutch that has burned from low fluid. Once the unit is torn down, check the solenoid pack and the valve body bores before you commit to reassembly. Replace every seal and gasket in the kit as a set, soak new frictions in ATF+4 before install, set clutch clearances to spec, and run the quick learn with a scan tool after the refill.
