62TE Transmission Differential Case Cover 04753192AA

This is the differential-side case cover for the Chrysler 62TE six-speed transaxle, replacing OE part 04753192AA. It is the aluminum cover that bolts to the side of the case over the differential, and it is a direct bolt-on -- no machining, no drilling. Two mounting bolts are included with the cover.

Fitment is the 62TE behind the 3.6L in Dodge, Chrysler and Ram ProMaster applications. If you are not sure which unit is under the van, the 62TE is the transverse six-speed with the separate low-reverse module hanging off the case; the tag and the 04753192AA casting number on the old cover are the fastest way to confirm before ordering.

You replace this cover when the sealing surface is leaking and will not stay sealed, when the flange got gouged or bent pulling an axle, when corrosion has pitted the mating face, or when the bolt holes are stripped or pulled. Any of those means fluid on the ground and air getting into the case. A new cover is a fraction of the cost of a case or a used transaxle, and it is one of the few 62TE leaks you can fix without splitting the unit.

On the bench or on the lift: drain the fluid, pull the axle on that side if it blocks access, unbolt and remove the old cover, then scrape and clean both mating surfaces down to bare metal so no old sealant or gasket material is left. Set the new cover on with fresh sealant per the service manual, run the bolts in by hand, then torque them in a criss-cross pattern to the factory spec. Refill and check the level hot before you release the vehicle.
