62TE Transmission Rebuild Kit with Overhaul Seals

This is a master overhaul kit for the Chrysler 62TE, the six-speed transverse automatic that shows up under a huge slice of the Chrysler/Dodge front-drive fleet from 2007 on. The 62TE is the 41TE/A604 case with a compounder gearset bolted on the back to get the extra ratios, so when it comes apart on the bench you are rebuilding a familiar unit plus that extra planetary section. This kit covers the soft parts for the whole thing: clutch frictions, steel plates, gaskets, lip seals, O-rings and sealing rings.

Fitment is broad. Chrysler 200 2011-2014 (2.4/3.6L), Sebring 2006-2010 (2.4/2.7/3.5L), Pacifica 2007-2008 (3.8/4.0L), Town & Country 2007-2016 (3.3/3.6/3.8/4.0L), Voyager 2007-2008 (3.3L). Dodge Avenger 2008-2014 (2.0/2.4/2.7/3.5/3.6L), Caravan 2007, Grand Caravan 2007-2020 (3.3/3.6/3.8/4.0L), Journey 2009-2019 (2.4/3.5/3.6L). Ram C/V 2012-2015, ProMaster 1500/2500/3500 2014-2021 (3.6L), Ram 1500 2018 3.6L. VW Routan 2009-2014 (3.6/3.8/4.0L). It replaces OE kit numbers B077820C, B077880C and W077881C.

The failures that put a 62TE on the bench are usually the underdrive and low/reverse clutch packs cooking, worn sealing rings bleeding off apply pressure, and the resulting harsh or slipping 2-3 and 3-4 shifts that set codes and drop the van into limp. New frictions and steels alone will not hold if the sealing rings and lip seals are left in, which is why an overhaul is done as a complete soft-part set rather than a patch.

Install notes: soak the frictions in clean ATF+4 for at least 20 minutes before assembly, check clutch pack clearance against spec as each drum goes together instead of assuming the kit stack is correct, and replace the filter and pan gasket at the same time. Flush or replace the cooler before the unit goes back in, or debris from the failed clutches will come straight back into the new build.
