Seven bushing drivers and two handles sized for the GM 6L80 and 6L90 case, drums and pump so new bushings go in straight and to depth.
Bushings are the quiet cause of a lot of 6L80 comebacks. A cocked pump bushing wears the converter hub, a loose stator bushing bleeds line pressure, and a worn case bushing lets the output shaft walk. Driving them in with a socket and a hammer is how they end up crooked or hammered past their seat. This set gives you seven drivers cut to the actual bushing diameters in the 6L80 and 6L90 family, plus two handles.
It covers the GM 6-speed rear-wheel-drive units from 2006 on: 6L80 and 6L90 in Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Escalade, Camaro, Corvette, and Hummer H2 and H3. The drivers pilot in the bore so the bushing starts square, and the shoulder stops the driver at the correct seated depth rather than letting you push the bushing below the oil feed hole.
On the bench, drive the old bushing out from the back side or roll it out with a chisel if the bore is blind, clean the bore, line up the new bushing so any seam or oil hole matches the original orientation, and drive it in one motion with the matching driver. Check that the bushing is flush or at the original depth, then verify the shaft or hub turns without drag before the unit goes back together.
