6R140 Transmission Service Kit with Filter and 10qt Fluid

Everything a Ford 6R140 fluid-and-filter service takes, in one box: ten quarts of Mercon LV (XT-10-QLVC), the transmission filter BC3Z-7A098-B, and the pan gasket BC3Z-7A191-B. Fits F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty from 2011 through 2019, behind the 6.7L Power Stroke and the gas engines.

A straight drain and refill on a 6R140 takes roughly eight quarts, so ten covers the job with enough left to top off after a road test and a recheck at temperature. If the pan is dropped and the converter is drained as well, plan on more - these units hold about 17 quarts total.

Ford's service interval on this transmission moves depending on how the truck is used. Towing, plowing, heavy hauling or steady stop-and-go all count as severe service and pull the interval in hard, because the fluid is what carries heat out of the clutch packs. Burnt fluid in a 6R140 shows up as a harsh or delayed 1-2, a shudder on the converter lockup, and eventually clutch material in the pan.

Note the fitment carefully: this kit is for the 6R140 and will not work on a 6R100. Check the transmission tag on your truck before ordering.
