3.5 Gallon Benchtop Parts Washer with 110V Solvent Pump

A bench-mount wash tank sized for the parts that actually pass across a transmission bench: valve bodies, separator plates, pump halves, planetary carriers, drums, servo bores and the loose hardware that comes out of a teardown. The basin measures 18 in wide by 13.5 in deep by 9 in high and holds 3.5 gallons, so a 4L60E valve body or a pump assembly lies flat in it instead of hanging over the edge the way it does in a shop sink.

The 110V pump moves about a half gallon per minute through a flexible steel gooseneck spout. You bend the spout where you need it and leave it there, which is what makes this useful for blind work - flushing a valve bore, running solvent down a cooler passage, or washing casting sand and clutch material out of a case channel while you hold the part with both hands. Most people add a flow-through brush to the spout; it cuts the splashing and turns the stream into a scrub instead of a rinse.

Read this part before you buy: it is rated for water-based cleaners only. Do not put mineral spirits, lacquer thinner, brake clean, or any other flammable or combustible solvent in it. Water-based degreaser is what it is built around, and that is also what most shops have moved to for washing aluminum transmission castings anyway. The lid is hinged and held by a fusible link, so it drops closed on its own if there is a fire nearby.
