DL501 Transmission TCU Conductor Plate 0B5927156E

This is the transmission control unit and conductor plate assembly, OE reference 0B5927156E, for the 0B5 DL501 S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It also carries the DQ500 reference. It fits Audi A4 and A6 from 2011 on and Volkswagen Tiguan from 2011 on with the 0B5 transmission.

The conductor plate is the electronic half of the mechatronic unit: it carries the TCU, the speed and pressure sensors, and the printed circuit that drives the clutch and shift solenoids. On the DL501 the failures are electrical rather than hydraulic. The car drops out of gear and coasts, refuses to engage Drive or Reverse, flashes the gear indicator on the cluster, throws implausible-signal codes for the input or output speed sensors, or stores clutch-pressure and TCU internal faults. When scan data shows sensor values that make no sense against actual road speed, the plate is the part at fault, not the clutch pack.

Plan the job around the programming. This unit ships blank and is not pre-coded to any car, so it has to be flashed with the correct software level and then have the clutch and gear adaptations run before the car will drive properly. That requires a factory-level tool, so book the coding before you pull the old plate rather than after. Mechanically it is a drop-the-pan job with the transmission in the car: drain the gear oil, unbolt the mechatronic cover, disconnect the main harness pass-through, and swap the plate, replacing the sealing elements as you go.

Check the number on your old plate against 0B5927156E before ordering. The DL501 went through several revisions and the plates are not cross-compatible between them.
