JF011E CVT Transmission Master Rebuild Kit with Filter

This is the full soft-parts and clutch pack overhaul set for the JATCO JF011E continuously variable transmission, sold by Nissan as the RE0F10A and by Mitsubishi and PSA as the F1CJA. It covers the units behind Nissan Altima, Rogue, Sentra and X-Trail, Jeep Compass and Patriot, Dodge Caliber, Mitsubishi Outlander and Lancer, and Suzuki Kizashi. The kit includes the complete seal and gasket set, the rubber and metal-clad piston seals, the friction plates, the steel plates, and the 20-bolt internal oil filter, so a bench overhaul does not stall waiting on a back-ordered gasket.

The JF011E fails in a predictable order. Fluid that has never been changed cooks the forward clutch and loads the pan with belt debris, the debris scores the pulley pistons, and the worn piston seals bleed off the clamping pressure that holds the steel push belt. The result is the classic complaint: rpm flare on acceleration, a shudder at light throttle around 25 to 40 mph, and eventually P0841 or P17F0 slip codes. Replacing every seal in the unit at once is the only way to restore line and pulley pressure; swapping one leaking seal just moves the failure.

On the bench, split the case and strip the unit down to the pulleys, then lay this kit out by station. Seat the new O-rings and lip seals dry into their grooves, lubricate them with clean CVT fluid before the piston goes back in, and air-check each clutch drum before the case halves come together. Soak the friction plates in CVT NS-2 or NS-3 fluid for at least 20 minutes before assembly. Install the new filter last, torque the pan bolts in a spiral pattern, and fill and level the unit at operating temperature using the CVT fluid the vehicle calls for. Do not run Dexron or a universal ATF in a JF011E, and always inspect the pulleys, belt and step motor separately, since this kit is soft parts and does not include hard parts.
