Replaces all four primary and secondary pulley bearings in the Toyota K114 CVT, the whine-and-shudder failure point on C-HR units.
The K114 is Toyota's belt-type CVT, and like every pushbelt CVT it lives or dies on the bearings that hold the primary and secondary pulley shafts in alignment. When those bearings brinell or lose their preload, the pulley sheaves no longer sit square to the belt. What the driver hears is a rising whine that tracks vehicle speed rather than engine speed, and what the driver feels is a shudder holding a steady cruise. Left alone, a failing pulley bearing chews the sheave faces and takes the belt with it, which turns a bearing job into a complete unit.
This is the four-bearing set for that repair: B49-12UR, B37-9A, B37Z-5UR and B37Z-15UR, the primary and secondary pulley support bearings for the K114 case. Confirmed fitment is the Toyota C-HR 2018-2020. Check your bearing numbers against the four above before ordering, because Toyota used more than one CVT family in this period and the K114 numbers are the ones this kit covers.
On the bench the job runs after the case is split and the pulley set is out. Press the old bearings off the shafts and out of the case bores, clean and inspect the bores for spun-bearing damage, then press the new bearings on square using a driver that bears on the race being pressed and never through the balls. Set the pulleys back in, verify the sheaves turn without roughness and that shaft endplay is within spec, and do not reuse the old belt if it shows glazing or a polished edge track. Refill with the Toyota CVT fluid the unit calls for, not conventional ATF.
Four bearings ship in the kit. Pulley bearings are a matched wear set, so replace all four together rather than chasing one noisy race.
