NAG1 Transmission Conductor Plate with Speed Sensor

This is the electronic conductor plate that lives on top of the valve body inside a NAG1 (Mercedes 722.6 / W5A580) five-speed automatic. It carries the internal wiring, the shift and pressure control solenoid circuits, the two speed sensors, and the 13-pin case connector that passes signal out to the TCM. When it fails you get no-start-in-park, limp mode locked in second or third gear, erratic or missing speedometer signal, harsh 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, and codes for the input or output speed sensor. Chrysler and Jeep applications commonly throw P0715, P0720 and P0736 when the speed sensor circuit inside this plate opens up.

Fits the 722.6 / NAG1 / W5A580 five-speed used in 2005-2020 Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Charger, Magnum, Durango, Nitro, Crossfire, Sprinter 2500 and 3500, and Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Wrangler. Replaces OEM numbers 1402701261, 52108308AC, 52108308AB, 68021352AA and the aftermarket 917-678 / 5S9573 / SU11035 references. Check your existing plate against those numbers before you order, since the 722.6 ran several conductor plate versions across its production life.

On the bench it is a pan-off job. Drop the pan and filter, unplug and unclip the 13-pin connector from the case (it twists a quarter turn to release), unbolt the solenoid retaining bolts, then slide the plate off its locating pins and disconnect the solenoid pigtails. The new plate drops into the same pins, torques down with the original bolts, and reconnects to the same solenoids. Most Chrysler and Jeep applications do not require a scan tool relearn afterward, but the Mercedes-badged 722.6 cars will want an adaptation reset before the shift quality settles back down.
