Drop-in shift correction kit for GM 6L80, 6L80E, 6L90 and 6L90E automatics (2007-2014) that fixes worn pressure regulator bore damage and harsh shifts.
The TransGo SK6L80 is a shift-correction and repair kit for the GM six-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic: the 6L80, 6L80E, 6L90, and 6L90E, along with the smaller 6L45 and 6L50 in the same family, model years 2007 through 2014. Everything in it installs as drop-in parts. There is no bore reaming, no machining, and no special tooling required.
These transmissions wear the pressure regulator valve bore in the pump. Once that bore opens up, line pressure drops and the pump rings start to leak, which starves and overheats the 4-5-6 clutch pack. That is the classic 6L80 failure, and it shows up as slipping, harsh or flared shifts, and blown pressure switches. The kit goes after the root cause with a heavy-duty drop-in pressure regulator valve and a solenoid regulator valve assembly that restore correct pressure control, plus high-temp HD clutch sealing rings that stand up to heat.
In the box you get the drop-in pressure regulator valve, the solenoid regulator valve assembly, an EPC relief assembly with a new boost valve to guard against pressure spikes, the high-temp clutch rings, and five pressure switch repair elements for the switches that commonly fail. The transmission has to come apart to install it, so plan on pulling the valve body and pump, but a tech who has been inside a 6L80 will find it straightforward. Ships from the USA.
