Hand pump that pushes ATF uphill into bottom and side fill plugs, with a 7.5 liter reservoir, pressure gauge and 15 threaded adapters.
Sealed-for-life automatics fill through a plug in the side or the bottom of the pan, and there is no dipstick tube to pour down. This is a 7.5 liter (2 gallon) manual piston pump that builds pressure in the tank and pushes fluid up into that port while the unit is level and at operating temperature. Thread the right adapter into the fill hole, run the hose over to the reservoir, stroke the handle to build pressure, then meter fluid in until it dribbles back out at the check level.
The 7.5 liter tank is the reason to pick this one over the small 3 liter pumps: a 6L80, 10R80, 6F35 or 8HP refill after a pan drop runs 5 to 7 quarts, and a full fluid exchange runs more than that. With two gallons in the reservoir you fill the unit in one go instead of stopping halfway to break the seal, top the tank off and rebuild pressure, which is where most of the mess and most of the wasted fluid comes from.
Fifteen aluminum adapters cover the common fill-plug threads on Ford, GM, Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan and BMW gearboxes, and three suction hoses let you reach ports that sit behind a crossmember or up against the bellhousing. Besides ATF it handles CVT and DSG fluid, gear oil, differential and transfer case fluid, and power steering fluid, so the same tank covers the rest of the driveline.
It is a manual pump, not air-powered, so a full tank takes a fair number of strokes before the gauge comes up. Pump it to pressure before you open the valve, watch the gauge, and back off as you approach the check level so you do not overfill a unit that is fussy about level.
