4L60E/4L65E Valve Body Plate & Harness P1870 Fix 96-06

This is a rebuilt valve body separator plate and internal wiring harness assembly for the GM 4L60E and 4L65E four-speeds built from 1996 through 2006. It fits the rear-wheel-drive and 4x4 trucks and vans these transmissions live in: Silverado, Sierra, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Express and Savana vans, Envoy, Jimmy and Blazer, along with the RWD Pontiac and Buick applications on the same case.

The part that most often sends a 4L60E to the bench with code P1870 is the plate and the harness that ties the pressure switch manifold to the solenoids. When the separator plate wears or the harness insulation breaks down, the transmission logs P1870 (component slipping / TCC slip), flares on the 3-4 shift, shudders at torque converter lockup and can drop into a no-lockup limp. Swapping the plate and harness together restores clean solenoid signals and correct apply pressure instead of chasing one bad circuit at a time.

On the bench you drop the pan, pull the filter and remove the valve body, transfer your check balls, then bolt the rebuilt plate and gaskets to the case side and route the new harness to the pressure switch manifold and case connector. It installs with hand tools; no reaming or special fixtures. Reset the code after the ATF and filter are back in and road test for lockup.

Confirm your transmission is a 1996-2006 4L60E or 4L65E before ordering. This assembly does not fit the earlier non-electronic 700R4/4L60 or the later 6L80/6L90 units.
