Chevy K1500 Front Driveshaft 938-224 for 4L60E Trucks

This is a complete front driveshaft assembly for 1995-2000 GM full-size 4WD trucks and SUVs with the 4-speed 4L60E automatic. It replaces GM 26057959 and cross-references to Dorman 938-224 and 65-9361.

Listed fitment: 1995-1999 Chevrolet and GMC K1500 and K1500/K2500 Suburban, 1995-2000 Tahoe and Yukon, K2500 pickups (the 7200 and 8600 lb GVW trucks), 1996-2000 GMC K3500 and 1995-2000 Chevrolet K3500, and 1999-2000 Cadillac Escalade, all with the automatic transmission. Trucks with a manual transmission or the 4L80E use a different front shaft.

Installed length is 31.73 to 33.9 inches. The tube is 2.01 inches in diameter with a 0.118 inch wall. The front shaft on these trucks lives at a hard angle off the transfer case, and the joints wear out from that angle and from road salt. A clunk when you engage 4WD, a front-end vibration only in 4-high, or rust dust around the U-joint caps means it is time.

Install: mark both ends, unstrap the shaft at the front differential, unbolt it from the transfer case flange, and swap in the new one. Grease the joints if fittings are present and torque the strap bolts to factory spec.
