4L60E Aluminum Deep Transmission Pan, 265-811 Replacement

This is a cast aluminum replacement for the 16-bolt deep sump pan used on GM 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E four-speed automatics. It crosses to Dorman 265-811 and GM pan numbers 24209295, 24229658, 24215535 and 24240207. The stamped steel factory pan rusts along the flange, gets dented by rocks and jack points, and eventually weeps at the gasket; a dented pan can also push up into the filter and starve the pickup.

Applications include 1999-2013 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, 2000-2008 Tahoe and Yukon, 2000-2009 Suburban 1500, 2002-2009 Avalanche, and 2002-2009 TrailBlazer and Envoy including the 2006-2009 TrailBlazer SS. It does not fit 4L80E, 6L80E, 6L90E, Powerglide or the Corvette shallow-pan unit. On Colorado/Canyon 4WD and H3/H3T the deeper casting can contact the front driveshaft, so check clearance before ordering for those.

On the bench: drain the fluid, drop the old pan, pull the filter and check the pan debris for clutch material or metal before you throw it away. Clean the case rail of old gasket, install a new filter and seal, set a new pan gasket and run the 16 bolts down in a cross pattern to spec. The pan has a drain plug, so the next service is a drain instead of a messy pan drop. Year and model alone do not confirm fitment; match the 16-bolt deep pan shape and filter style on your case first.
