Five forward clutch steel plates for the GM 4L60E family, sold as Tri Component 77113AK-5. Each plate is 0.090 in (2.28 mm) thick with 20 external teeth, 4.261 in inside diameter and 6.066 in outside diameter. Interchange numbers include GM 8654325, 77113A, 511609, 352-1105, 61105D and 74128A.
Fitment: 4L60E 1993-up, 4L65E and 4L70E 2001-up, and TH700-R4 1985-1993. The forward clutch lives in the input housing and applies in every forward range, so it takes a beating on high-mileage and towing units.
When to replace them: a forward pack that has slipped gets hot, and the steels come out blued, heat-checked or dished. Reusing them against new frictions is the usual reason a fresh rebuild comes back with a delayed or harsh engagement into drive. Check each steel on a flat surface; if it rocks or shows hard spots, it goes in the scrap bin.
On the bench: soak the new frictions, alternate friction and steel starting from the piston side per your manual, install the backing plate and snap ring, then set clearance with a feeler gauge and air-check the piston before the housing goes back in the case.
