4L60E Master Rebuild Kit with Bonded Pistons, Band and Filter

This is a master overhaul kit for the GM 4L60E family, and it also covers the 4L65E, 4L70E and 4L75E. It is built for a full teardown, not a reseal: the box carries friction plates and steel plates for the clutch packs, a new 2-4 band, bonded clutch pistons, a deep-sump style filter, the pan gasket, multiple valve body separator plate gaskets to match different production years, front pump and rear seals, sealing rings and the full spread of O-rings. Manufacturer part number YDM-GN02483.

Common applications are the Silverado and Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Yukon, Avalanche, Escalade, Trailblazer and Canyon. Because the kit ships with several separator plate gaskets, lay your old gasket over each one and match the hole pattern before you torque the valve body down. A wrong gasket will block a feed and give you no reverse or a slipping 3-4 shift right out of the gate.

Reach for a master kit when the unit came in burnt: 3-4 clutch pack blued and slipping, 2-4 band glazed, forward clutch worn to the steels, or debris packed in the pan. Soak the frictions in ATF for at least 30 minutes, set the bonded pistons with clean fluid on the bores, check clutch clearances as you stack each drum, and air check every circuit before the pan goes on. Hard parts such as the sun shell, drums, planets and bushings are not part of this kit, so inspect those while it is apart.
