Bolt-in refurbished 4L60E/4L65E valve body with EPC and shift solenoids installed and a corrected TCC regulator bore for P1870 slip complaints.
A complete refurbished valve body assembly for the GM 4L60E and 4L65E, shipped with the EPC (pressure control) and shift solenoids already installed along with the internal wiring harness, so it bolts to the case as a unit instead of being built up piece by piece on the bench.
The main reason to swap the whole valve body is bore wear. The factory TCC regulator and isolator valves wear their aluminum bores, the converter clutch loses apply pressure and the unit sets P1870 (older calibrations call it code 894). Left alone, that leak burns up a fresh rebuild: overheated converter, burned 3-4 clutches, harsh 1-2 and 3-2 shifts and low line pressure. This assembly has that bore reconditioned with a wear-resistant aluminum sleeve and new regulator and isolator valves.
Listed solenoid and valve body interchange numbers include GM 10478112, 10478120, 10478131, 24230298, 24215111, 24219581, 24220158, 24203101, 24209276, 8677314, 8684216, 24212690, 24227792, 8683187, 24212327, 24203267 and 24209121. The seller lists fitment for 1996-2007 Chevy, GMC, Pontiac and Buick applications with the 4L60E or 4L65E. The EPC solenoid and harness connector changed in 2003, so compare the solenoids and case connector against the photos and your old unit before you drop the pan.
On the bench: drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug the case connector and solenoids, then remove the valve body bolts and lift it straight down while holding the separator plate so the checkballs stay put. Check the case for all checkballs, install the new assembly with a torque wrench to spec in the factory sequence, reconnect the harness, fit a new filter and gasket, refill with Dexron VI and road test before clearing codes.
Before you replace it, read our step-by-step 4L60E valve body test guide — the symptoms and codes, the line-pressure and vacuum checks, and how to confirm the valve body is the fault. See all 4L60E parts.
