Adjustable-jaw puller that grips the 4L60E front pump and draws it straight out of the case bore without prying on the pump body or scoring the case.
This is a jaw-style front pump puller for pulling the pump out of the case on a teardown. On a 4L60E the pump is a tight fit in the case bore and sealed with an outer O-ring (a wedge seal on 2004-up cases), so once the bolts are out it usually will not come free by hand. Prying behind the pump flange with screwdrivers is how cases get gouged and pump bodies get cracked.
The jaws reach in and hook behind the pump, and the center screw bears on the input shaft so the pump walks out square to the bore. The seller lists fitment for GM THM200, 200-4R, 350, 400, 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L75E pumps, plus Ford C6, E4OD and 4R100, and Chrysler TorqueFlite units with the fat stator spline.
On the bench: drain the unit, pull the converter, remove the pump-to-case bolts, set the jaws behind the pump, snug the screw against the input shaft and turn it down evenly until the pump clears the O-ring. Keep the input shaft in place so the forward and 3-4 clutch drums do not come out with the pump. On reassembly, use a pump alignment band before torquing the bolts.
