8HP45 Transmission Solenoid Kit, 10-Piece Remanufactured

This is a complete set of the ten solenoids that sit in the ZF 8HP45 mechatronic valve body: the shift and pressure regulating solenoids plus the parking lock solenoid. It crosses to ZF solenoid kit 1087-298-388 (1087298388), the same set used across the 8HP45, 8HP70 and 8HP90 family. These are remanufactured units, so the housings may show light surface marks; each set is checked before it ships.

Listed fitment includes BMW 1, 3, 5 and 7 Series, X1, X3, X4, X5 and X6 with the 2.0T and 3.0T engines (roughly 2007-2019 depending on model), 2012-2016 Dodge Charger 3.6L, 2013-2016 Chrysler 300 5.7L, Audi Q7 3.0L, 3.6L and 4.2L, and Jaguar XF and XJ 4.2L and 5.0L. Confirm your transmission tag and the numbers on your old solenoids before ordering.

When to change the set: harsh or delayed engagement, flare between gears, slipping, a shudder under light throttle, or stored pressure control and shift solenoid codes that come back after a fluid service. On high-mileage 8HP units the solenoids wear and stick as a group, so replacing one at a time usually just moves the problem to the next one.

On the bench: drain the fluid, drop the pan (on most 8HP units the pan and filter are one piece), unplug the mechatronic connector sleeve and remove the valve body. Pull the retaining brackets, swap the solenoids one position at a time so none get mixed up, then reinstall with a new connector sleeve seal and a new pan. Fill with the correct ZF Lifeguard 8 or approved fluid at operating temperature and run a transmission adaptation reset with a capable scan tool before the road test.
