Genuine GM EPC pressure control solenoid (PN 24248893) that regulates line pressure on 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L80E automatics; fixes harsh or slipping shifts.
This is the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid, GM part number 24248893, the variable-force "force motor" that sets line pressure inside GM 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E and 4L80E automatics. The PCM commands a current to this solenoid and it bleeds control pressure to the pressure regulator valve, which is what raises pressure under load and eases it off at light throttle. When it drifts or fails, line pressure goes wrong across every range, so the symptoms show up as a shift-quality problem, not a single-gear problem.
Typical failure signs are harsh, banging upshifts and a hard 1-2 or 2-3 engagement, or the opposite: soft slipping shifts and a burnt-clutch smell when pressure falls off. An electrical fault will set DTC P0748 (pressure control solenoid electrical) or P1811 (maximum adapt / long shift) and can drop the transmission into limp mode holding one gear. If you have a valve body out for a solenoid or shift kit job, this is a wear item worth replacing while you are in there rather than reusing a high-mileage one.
It bolts into the valve body pump/pressure regulator circuit and connects to the internal wiring harness with a two-terminal weatherpack connector. Set the transmission fluid aside, remove the pan and filter, unbolt the retaining bracket, unplug the connector and swap the solenoid, then reset transmission adapts with a scan tool after the fluid and filter are back in. This is the genuine ACDelco/GM unit built to OE fit and calibration, carrying a 12 month / 12,000 mile parts warranty. Ships from the USA.
