The A01, A02 and A03 suffixes are supersessions of the same casting, so any of the three numbers on your old unit is the right match for this part. Honda stamps the number on the body itself. Read it before ordering rather than going by model year alone, because the Civic changed CVT hardware partway through this window and the earlier and later bodies are not the same casting.

These Honda CVTs fail in a recognizable pattern. The start clutch pressure control circuit wears, and the car develops a low-speed judder pulling away from a stop, a flare or rubbery feel on light acceleration, and eventually a hard shudder under load. Fresh HCF-2 fluid and a drain-and-fill will quiet it for a few thousand miles, then it comes back. That is the signature of a worn bore, not tired fluid. Replacing the valve body is the fix. Drain the transaxle, pull the pan and filter, unplug the solenoid connectors, unbolt the body evenly, and transfer over any solenoids you are reusing. Refill with genuine Honda HCF-2 only, since conventional CVT fluid will destroy the belt, and let the TCM relearn the clutch pressures over a few miles of mixed driving.
