Master overhaul kit for the JF011E / RE0F10A CVT: frictions, steels, seals and the internal filter for Nissan Altima, Rogue and Jeep Compass.
This is the master overhaul kit for the JF011E CVT, the Jatco-built variable belt unit that Nissan sells as the RE0F10A and Mitsubishi as the F1CJA. It covers the parts that actually wear out in a teardown: the clutch friction plates and steel plates for the forward and reverse packs, the full rubber and paper gasket set, the o-rings and lathe-cut seals for the valve body and pulley pistons, and the internal oil filter that most rebuilders forget to order separately.
Fitment covers the common JF011E applications: Nissan Altima 2.5L, Rogue, Sentra and X-Trail, Jeep Compass and Patriot, Dodge Caliber, Suzuki Kizashi, and Mitsubishi units carrying the F1CJA casting. Check the tag on the case for JF011E, RE0F10A or F1CJA before ordering, because the later JF011E-derived JF015E and JF016E units use different clutch stacks and filters and this kit will not cover them.
On the bench, these units come apart for the same handful of reasons: the pulley piston seals harden and let line pressure bleed off, which shows up as belt slip and flare on a light throttle 2000 rpm cruise, and the forward clutch frictions cook once the fluid has been in past 60,000 miles. Soak the new frictions in clean CVT fluid before you stack them, replace the filter at the same time, and reset the fluid deterioration counter with a scan tool after the unit is back in the car. The seals in this kit are FKM fluorine rubber with ACM on the high-heat locations, and the oil seals are NAK, so they hold up to the temperatures a CVT sees better than the cheap universal seal packs.
