JF015E CVT Clutch Pack Kit for Nissan Versa 1.6L

This is the clutch pack set for the Jatco JF015E CVT, the small-car CVT Nissan uses behind the 1.6L four. It covers both clutch packs inside the unit: the primary (drive) pack and the secondary (driven) pack, with the friction discs and steel separator plates for each. Nissan lists the assembly as 06-089, also written 06089 or L06089.

Fitment is 2009-2019 Versa sedan and 2014-2017 Versa Note with the 1.6L L4 and the JF015E transmission. Check the tag on the case before you order, because Nissan also put the larger JF016E and JF017E in other chassis and those clutch packs are a different diameter and plate count. A 2009-2011 Versa with the four-speed automatic does not use this kit at all.

What sends these units to the bench is glazed or burned frictions: the car creeps, shudders under light throttle around 20 to 30 mph, flares on takeoff, or sets a P0776 or a ratio fault. Once the pump and belt check out, the clutch packs are the wear item you replace. Measure the stack height and set clearance to spec as you reassemble, and inspect the steels for heat blueing before you reuse anything else.

The frictions and steels ship dry. Soak the frictions in fresh CVT NS-3 fluid for at least fifteen minutes before assembly so they do not scorch on first apply.
