JF017E CVT Transmission Valve Body for Nissan Murano

This is the JF017E (RE0F10D) valve body assembly for the heavy-duty Jatco CVT8 used behind the 3.5L VQ35DE V6. It is a remanufactured unit - pulled from a donor transmission, stripped, inspected and reassembled - and it comes with a new filter and pan gasket so the job is one order instead of three. Some protective oil film on the casting is normal and is there to keep the machined surfaces from flash-rusting in storage.

It covers OE numbers 31705-29X0B, 31705-29X0E, 31705-29X6D and 31705-29X1E. Fitment is 2016-2019 Maxima 3.5L, 2015-2019 Murano 3.5L, 2013-2018 Altima 3.5L, 2013-2018 Pathfinder 3.5L, 2015-2017 Quest 3.5L and 2014-2016 Infiniti QX60 3.5L. The four-cylinder cars use the smaller JF016E body and will not interchange with this one, so confirm the engine before you order.

Typical reasons a JF017E valve body gets replaced: a shudder or vibration that comes in around 25-45 mph under light load, a flare or slip when the ratio should be climbing, a whine that tracks engine speed, a hard fixed-ratio limp mode after a hot highway run, and line-pressure or secondary-pressure codes including P0841, P0847, P0868, P17F0 and P17F1. Before you condemn the body, pull the pan and read the magnet - heavy steel fuzz or belt material means the chain and pulleys are already damaged and the transmission needs to come out.

On the bench, transfer nothing from the old unit except what the instructions call for, seat the new filter fully, and torque the valve body bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern. Refill with genuine Nissan NS-3 CVT fluid only, then clear the codes and perform the CVT fluid deterioration and learned-value reset with a scan tool that supports Nissan CVT functions.
